Winter Walking Festival

Every year the Ramblers hold a Winter Walking Festival (also known as the Festival of Winter Walks) and this year it will run from Friday 21 December 2018 until Sunday 6 January 2019. This year the theme will be on loneliness and inclusion and Norfolk Ramblers are really excited to engage with that theme.

We try to ensure that all of our walks are accessible and welcoming, but we do understand that for many people it’s a difficult and even frightening thing to go and meet new people. So we’re running a series of walks throughout the festival which are deliberately aimed at offering a friendly welcome, and we’ll do what we can to make that process as easy as we can. If it helps you, then you can contact us in advance and we can arrange to meet you at your car at a walk, we’ll try and arrange a lift to a walk or we can help you attend a social event first if you’d like that. We can talk you through anything you like, whether by e-mail or by phone.

In short, we’re keen to reach out and welcome those who want to come and meet new friends. And Norfolk Ramblers have twelve different groups, so there’s some variety depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re keen to meet new people and spend far too much time at the pub and going on holidays, then Hike Norfolk are there for you! If you want to join a group which walks shorter distances, we can offer recommendations, and we even have a long distance walking group if you want something to aim for.

Here are some of the walks which are focusing particularly on new members. We’ve listed these on Meetup so anyone interested can ask questions and find out more.
